Main Grants Programme

The Main Grants Programme supports projects that are innovative, sustainable and capacity building within a number of geographical priority areas, (please note the Foundation’s focus interest for each area) selected on an annual basis. Some of these will be existing projects with measurable outcomes, others will be pilots which are looking to break new ground. All projects are closely managed to ensure that the best possible outcomes are achieved. Each year we publish a set of criteria which the Foundation wishes to see addressed in grant applications.

How to apply

Each year after the Foundation has decided its geographical priority areas and criteria, the main grants programme is open to organisations to complete an expression of interest form as the first stage of a two stage application process. If the expression of interest form is approved, the submitting organization will be asked to complete a full application form for consideration by the board of trustees. The deadline for the submission of the expression of interest forms for funding in 2009-10 is 3rd September 2008. The priority areas and the Foundation’s focus of interest in those areas are as follows:

  • London Borough of Newham - Stratford and New Town Ward - with a focus on children and young people
  • London Borough of Tower Hamlets - Isle of Dogs, Cubitt Town and Blackwall and Millwall Wards – with a focus on Community Cohesion
  • London Borough of Havering with a focus on older people and people with disabilities
