Community Food Enterprise

CFE is a social enterprise which is 100% owned by the residents of West Ham and Plaistow. It provides affordable fresh and healthy food for residents, and also works to develop and sustain healthy eating habits.

Support from East Foundation has enabled CFE to recruit a full time buyer and driver, who sources fresh food at the most competitive prices and delivers it to CFE venues, including schools and estates.

The funding has also provided 100 bursaries for unemployed local people to attend CFE’s innovative National Training Programme for Community Food Workers. Residents learn new skills and develop the confidence to extend the project locally.
